PICK YOURSELF UP

You are the designer of your destiny. You are the author, you write the story, the pen is in your hands and the outcome is whatever you choose. You were born to add value to this world and therefore there's the need to *invest in yourself if no one wants to invest in you.* At some point in time The Antidote made the same decision as to investing in himself when no one wanted to but today let look at what Denzel Washington a movie actor and John Cena a WWE star has for us.

Denzel Washington – Fall Forward

In this moving and personal speech, Academy Award-winner Denzel Washington reminds us that sometimes you need to fall down a thousand times before you can soar.

Transcript:

“You will fail at some point in your life, accept it. You will lose, you will embarrass yourself, you will suck at something, there’s no doubt about it. I was a 1.8 GPA one semester, and the university very politely suggested that it might be better to take some time off.

“I was 20 years old, I was at my lowest point, but here’s the thing, I didn’t quit. I didn’t fall back, but I continued to fail, and fail, and fail, but it didn’t matter, because you know what? There’s an old saying, ‘You hang around the barbershop long enough, sooner or later you’re going to get a haircut.’ So you will catch a break, and I did catch a break.

“Last year, I did a play called Fences, on Broadway. It was at the same theater that I’d failed at first audition 30 years prior. Thomas Edison conducted 1000 failed experiments. Did you know that? I didn’t know that, because the 1001st was the light bulb.

“Fall forward. Sometimes, it’s the best way to figure out where you’re going. Never be discouraged, never hold back, give everything you got, and when you fall throughout life remember this: fall forward.”

John Cena – Overcome

John Cena reminds us that everyone fails, and says that our character is judged not by how we celebrate our victories, but how we pick ourselves up and overcome life’s obstacles.

Transcript:

“Sometimes you can try so hard at something. Sometimes you can be so prepared and still fail. And when every time you fail, it’s painful. It causes sadness. And especially as I saw last night, it causes disappointment. I’ve often said a man’s character is not judged after he celebrates a victory but by what he does when his back is against the wall.

“So no matter how great the setback, how severe the failure, you never give up. You pick yourself up, you brush yourself up, you push forward, you move on, you adapt, you overcome. That is what I believe.”

The Antidote believes that you are great and there is something magnificent about you regardless of what is happening to you in your life.

Regardless of how young or old you think you might be, the moment you begin to think properly that you are an antidote of yourself it will begin to emerge. It will take over your life, it will feed you, it will cloth you, protect you, direct you and sustain your existence.
